Researchers from the area of Environmental Informatics & Systems Toxicology have just performed a systematic review of the different mechanisms involved in the immunotoxicity and immunomodulation of T cells caused by several endrocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), such as 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), bisphenols (BPs) and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).

Researchers of the area of Food Toxicology have just published an article focused on analyzing the health risks associated to the dietary intake of several food processing contaminants (PFCs). This study was aimed at determining the levels of acrylamide, furans, monochloropropanediols (MCPDs) and glycidyl esters (GEs)) in foodstuffs purchased in Catalonia and assessing the human exposure for different population groups.

As Editor-in-Chief of Food and Chemical Toxicology, Prof. José L. Domingo has just published a new call for papers on the potential toxic effects of COVID-19 vaccines. Food and Chemical Toxicology encourages the researchers to submit the results of their investigations on this topic in order to clarify which are the toxicological risks - if any - of the current vaccines. The Area of Neuropsychology and Emotions of TecnATox will shortly publish a call for a part-time PhD studentship linked to a research project on Dementia and Microbiota (expected duration: 10 months). The selected student will also collaborate in other projects, studies and tasks that are being carried out within the group.
