David Ventura will defend his doctoral thesis on 21st February 2020, at 11.00am in Aula 205 (videoconferences) of the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Title: "Evaluació de un programa de entrenamiento basado en Mindfulness: Efectos psicológicos, neuropsicológicos y emocionales" (Evaluation of a training program based on Mindfulness: Psychological, Neuropsychological and emotional effects).

Supervisors: Dr. Paloma Vicens and Dr. Luis Heredia

There is an increasing concern for the potential health risks of living close to the petrochemical complex of Tarragona. This concern is not new, but now is a hot topic due to the recent accident in Iqoxe. Diari de Tarragona took advantage of this to interview Prof. Domingo.

Prof. Domingo, founder of TecnATox, has recently been interviewed by Le Monde. The reason of the interview was the accident of Iqoxe that occurred in the chemical complex of Tarragona the last January 14th. You can read the full press release in the following link.

TecnATox will assess if living near to the chemical complex of Tarragona is correleted with the incidence of certain diseases, such as allergies, respiratory problems, etc, through the identification of biomarkers. You can read the fill press release here.

The development of this project was already planned, but due the explosion of last Tuesday January 14, the self-funded study will start immediately.

The Catalan Water Partnership, with the suport of Institut de Recerca de l'Aigua and ACCIÓ, have organized the first edition of the Water Talks, entitled "Els microplàstics: Problemàtica, projectes actuals, reptes i tendències en el futur", in english Microplastics: the problem, current research, challenges and future trends).

Prof. Marta Schuhmacher, director of TecnATox, participated in the round table where challenges and future trends of microplastics will be discussed.

The event took place last December 11 at "Sala Antiga de Graus" of the Faculty of Physics, Universitat de Barcelona (UB).
